The Willow

The Willow is a short atmospheric horror game inspired by The Willow, one of the haunting ballads from the Czech literary collection Kytice (A Bouquet of Folk Legends) by Karel Jaromír Erben. I made this game only as a short school project so do not think much about it its not some AAA game only a very short project. 

Step into a dark world of folklore, mystery, and tragedy. When a young man discovers that his beloved is bound to an ancient willow tree, he embarks on a desperate journey to uncover the truth behind a terrible curse. As the line between life and death begins to fade, every choice brings him closer to a heartbreaking revelation.

Explore eerie forests, follow forgotten paths, and uncover fragments of a story rooted in old Slavic folklore. The game focuses on atmosphere, storytelling, and psychological tension rather than combat, delivering a brief but memorable horror experience.

About Kytice

Kytice (translated as A Bouquet of Folk Legends) is a famous collection of narrative poems written by Czech author Karel Jaromír Erben in 1853. Drawing from Slavic myths, folklore, and moral tales, its stories often explore themes of love, fate, guilt, death, and the supernatural. The Willow is inspired by one of these classic ballads, bringing a piece of Czech literary heritage to an international audience.
